If your company is having issues manufacturing high strength steel tire cord there are many advantages in contacting TWT.  It is not uncommon for TWT to consult with two or three steel tire cord manufacturers per year to help develop a process to manufacture Ultra Tensile product.  There is no other manufacturing consulting firm in the world with greater experience in high strength products.  TWT has been involved in industrial development of higher strength steels since 1989 - 20 years of experience including lead engineer on the first manufacturing team to commercially produce Super Tensile, Ultra Tensile & Mega Tensile cable including work with the initiator of high strength cable, the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, Inc..

There are significant advantages to manufacturing higher strength product from the lowest rod alloy content practical by increasing final true strain.  Assuming that chevron related process breakage is not an issue focus should be on the plating, diffusion and fine drawing lubricant areas to increase fine drawing true strain without reducing fine drawing speeds.   The most significant results will be:

  1. Optimization of fine drawing die practices and wet lubricant control
  2. Fine drawing of higher strength product at speeds equivalent to those of lower strength product
  3. Re-evaluation of fine drawing speeds for normal strength products with the significant possibility of increasing speed

  4. Very significant no-cost increases in patenting line output since higher fine drawing true strain translates into higher plated diameters.
